My little girl is growing up

I have been gone for a while; busy working on my cloth diaper blog and book, entertaining family in our house for 5 days, and sadly watching my firstborn grow up so fast. Haley turned 6 on Thursday and I can't tell you how much she has changed over the last 2 weeks. It's little things like now she can reach the kitchen sink and turn it on by herself. Those last few things that they depend on us for are slipping away. When she was just born well meaning family tried to explain that this would happen. But in my naivete I shrugged them off and thought to myself that this won't happen to me. I know she'll always need me but now I have to beg...plead...for some snuggle time. Haven is my little snuggler so I can get my fix there-for now.

The Blog World

It wasn't until last week that I really "got" blogs. Months and months ago I started this blog and introduced my sister-in-law to blogging. I stopped writting and she developed a huge fan base. Now even though she likes to say "I don't know anything about blogs" I have discovered that she is quite versed in the right things.

So what got me back into blogging? My husband. He is the business mind and he got me started on a new venture (All About Cloth Diapers). I started to enjoy writing to help people with questions and doubts that they had about cloth diapers. Now that I am learning so much more than "open blog, write post, publish", I am starting to read other people's blogs and critique them. There are some outstanding web-savvy mamas out there! I wonder if they are the know-it-alls or if they have a husband behind them doing all the technical stuff?? I am perfectly happy just doing the writing.

Now my "Blogs Worth Reading" is growing and I am having to learn about this Google Reader my husband told me about weeks ago. Why does it take me so long to catch on?? Maybe I'm stubborn :) and have to figure it out myself.

I did figure one thing out on my own today. You will notice (hopefully because I don't usually do all the coding things) at the end of this post is a new "bookmark" icon. I saw it on a blog I was reading this morning and I love it!

Who says 12 hours in the car isn't fun???

You wimps lol! Well it wasn't 12 hours straight thankfully! On Saturday we drove to Houston for a wedding and turned around Sunday to come back.

If I could choose one word to describe the wedding it would be: interesting.

It was beautifully decorated and I loved the colors: purple and sage. Well not purple purple but lavendar. I am not sure if I would say that overall this trip was a good thing or a bad one. Anytime you drive 2 long stretches that close together you're bound to have atleast one of them be horrible.
On the trip back we made a lot of stops. One of them was at a rest stop that was so gorgeous. I think it was around Conroe. The trees are tall, thick, and wonderful. In the middle of the rest area was a huge play ground. It would be a dream to have that in my backyard! The kids got to play a bit before we continued on. Oh and the reason we stopped was because my precious son likes to scream "I need to poop and pee NOW" at frequent intervals...and usually at times when there is NO bathroom in sight. So we had a couple of "on the side of the road" potty breaks. It makes me glad that I only have 1 child who does this. The other is almost 6 and has a great bladder and the other is still in cloth diapers.

But we made it back as one happy family still and that is a great accomplishment!

Finally Finally Finally! After months of late nights my cloth diaper blog has launched. Michael worked so hard learning how to build a blog from nothing. I joke that he speaks code in his sleep now.

My blog is going to provide readers with the latest news in cloth diapering along with tips and tricks to help them along the way. If you are reading this I would be honored if you would link to me in your blog or add me as a favorite. Your readers will thank you :D
