I just thought the were potty trained!

Yes I said they.

Yesterday was lovely. It all started at midnight. I had given the kids a lot of water before bed on Sunday night. Usually water before bedtime isn't a problem for the kids.
But, at midnight I awake to Michael in my face asking where the twin sheets are. Most people can probably answer quickly but I seem to never know where I put anything for a good 5 minutes.

After I sent him off (looking in the wrong place) I get up and go to the correct place to find them.

So that was incident #1. After school time Monday the kids were playing outside. Michael and I were hanging out in the kitchen talking when Paisley runs in and says she has to pee. "Well go" we both hurriedly say.

Being the obedient child she is, she did...on the floor. Incident #2.

Fast forward to this morning at 6:45ish. Haven is standing by my bed and whispers, "Mom, why are my pants wet?" Had I not been joyfully sleeping I would have exploded. He's 5! But instead I say go change and get back in bed.

When I got up and went to wake the angels I saw him in bed and gasped "what are you doing in bed? are your sheets wet?!" They weren't. He's been known to pee just a bit not wetting the sheets (the positive to the story!). Incident #3.

And the final...I hope...incident just occured. When something happens 4 times close together you blog about it. Paisley was standing on the toilet brushing her teeth. I walked in and she looks panicked and says "I just peed". Grrrrrr.

She was on the potty!!!! Now my floor is a little cleaner as is the trashcan and toilet paper holder.

The rain dance worked!

Last night the kids heard thunder in the distance (why is it always just north/east/west of us??). I told them how me, Chris and Luke used to do rain dances all the time when we were kids.

Haley was embarrassed but went behind a bush and did it. I finally got them to do it on video for me :)

Apparently, they're dance worked ...ok not really it was the prayers I said last night!

What's better than a good rainstorm and Eddie Rabbit?

Haven's Playing Soccer!

I was sick at the thought of Haven playing soccer. Why? Because I know how Haven is around other people and I feared how this would unfold.

Haven is typical boy in every way. But when you put him in front of someone he doesn't know really well he turns into a deaf-mute.

His first practice went okay. His second practice I was worried. The coach told him to tell the players his name...nothing. No recognition of even hearing the man speak words. Silence and of course huge big brown eyes staring up at the coach.

I called my mom and chuckled at the thought that they might think Haven has a slight disability.

His first game was Saturday and after many pep-talks from Daddy on what to do, he did very well. His is no Tatu..ok so only 5 people in the world will know who that is but that's ok. He'll do well enough for the 5 minute quarters and 9 games this season.

I must add that he is the cutest player out there!

Happy Birthday, Haven!

My prince is 5 today!!! Wow. I really can't believe that I have survived the last 5 years!

Haven has certainly kept me on my toes but boy do I love this kid. He melts me in a nanosecond.

I am so grateful that God chose me to be his mommy. I pray he will always be a mommy's boy :)

Want to meet my chilldren?

I have 4 children: 2 boys, 2 girls. Sometimes the middle 2 get a little confused about their gender. Poor Haven just wants soft clothes so he could care less if it's girl, boy or dog clothing.

Paisley only wants to wear Haven's clothes. Sometimes when I look at her I have to do a double-take. I think I'm looking at Haven when he was 2.

So here they are...at their best ;)

Paisley in boys boxer shorts, no shirt (the usual) and a silly look on her face.

Haven looking ravishing in the Cinderella costume and head scarf.

And a cute picture of Haley and Sterling.

Scooter vs. 3 year old boy

Exhibit A: This is an x-ray of a normal radius and ulna of a 3 year old boy.

Exhibit B: The x-ray of a broken left ulna and radius of a 3 year old boy.

Exhibit C: A very cute 3 year old boy in a bright orange cast. :)

Verdict: Scooter won.

Is anthing safe??

Why????!

I will never be able to comprehend why my son (most boys for that matter) prefers to destroy EVERYTHING he touches. I just don't get it. Toys, paper, books, crayons, valuable items, sentimental items, junk, food, furniture...

I am trying to recall an object that Haven has not desired to take apart, color on, cut, burn, or all together destroy. He does have some toys that are in perfect shape. Anything that is HIS.

What brings this up? As I was walking in my laundry room today something blue caught my eye under the dryer. It was one of those adjustable eraser sticks. I love those things. I was so excited to show Haley and of course my excitement led to Haven's curiosity. You'd think I would have learned by now to not over-react to inanimate things.

After Haley showed no interest in this eraser that I thought was so cool, Haven took off with it like it was his newborn baby. That love lasted um...15 seconds. As soon as I turned back around he had already fully taken apart the eraser.

Because I like to waste my breath, I explained to Haven that we don't have to destroy everything. If he was half the smart alek that I am he would have grinned and said "ya sure mommy".

Needless to say, 4 hours later the eraser is MIA and when I do find it, it will be in 25 parts. :D

I am still picking up the shreds of foam from an octopus sprinkler I bought 3 weeks ago--when will I learn.
